Coles gingerbread man

I forgot to add this to the last post

Cole got to take his construction paper gingerbread man home yesterday and it said "how do you catch a gingerbread man?"

Cole wrote.... "with a gingerbread girl"

the past week

I havent posted in awhile so its time for an update

Last weekend, Bryan and Caden worked on the pinewood derby car because the race is coming up soon. They have an amazing car and Bryans mechanical engineering background really helped them figure out some tricks to have a fast car. They are so excited for the race next weekend. All thats left to finish this week is the final painting and putting the wheels on it.

While they were working on the car and Chase was napping, I took Cole to a Japanese New Year celebration and met some of our friends there. It was really neat. They had origami, drummers, calligraphy, games for the kids and some really good food. Cole had a really good time and was the most excited about his origami. Caden loved seeing what Cole made and they spent the rest of the night playing with Cadens origami book that he hadnt looked at in years.

We also went to the cheesecake factory and Gymboree on Sunday. I got Chase and Cole some cute outfits from the rockstar line and chases rock and roll shoes match it perfectly. I love it on them. I wish I could get Caden to wear cute clothes but he is getting a little better. At least he wore his new jeans to school this week and he will occasionally wear some of the cute shirts i got him for christmas.

Yesterday was not one of my better days.

The day started out okay. I had some errands to run in the morning and I was going south on Coit and a car on Hedgcoxe decided to run the light and hit the car in front of me so I had to slam on the brakes very suddenly. Thank goodness that Chase was in a really good carseat because his head flew forward suddenly and he was crying his eyes out. I pulled over to make sure he was okay and give the lady that was hit my number since I witnessed the whole thing. Chase and i are both fine just shaken up. Good thing I did because the woman that hit her said she didnt run the light. Another lady pulled over to give her name and number so that makes 2 witnesses that say otherwise. I wish people would be more aware of whats going on around them. I thank God that I was paying such close attention because if I werent...a different scenerio could have played out.

I met a friend last night to pick something up from her. We met at Borders and I had to take cole and Chase with me. Bryan had to take Caden to karate and Cole was naughty after school so I told him that he was going to have to go to bed early so he had to go with me. He reluctantly got in the car with me and once we got to Borders, he told me that he didnt have any shoes on...great.....that meant i had to put cole in chases stroller and carry Chase. You can imagine how hard it is to push a stroller and hold a 31 lb baby in your arms. I was really wishing i would have brought the beco baby carrier with me. I was really happy to see my friend when she got there because i had reached my limit of holding a wiggly baby in my arms. It wasnt her fault why she was late so i wasnt mad at all, just mad at myself for not being better prepared. Im usually better about planning ahead. It was a live and learn moment. She was very nice and carried Chase to the car for me.

Im really hoping today is a better day than yesterday was. It has to be.. right??

We met some friends of ours that went to Apple Creek with Cole last year. They had a great time in the sand pit making villages and Chase found a friend. He went down the slide and she caught him and then he started making his kissing sounds and she walked over and gave him a big kiss.

Fun things this week

Its been really nice to have the boys back in school this week. I have gotten a lot accomplished around the house and they are happy to be back in school to see all their friends again.

Cole has bronchitis. He thought the dr said he had monk-itis so he was really concerned that he was going to turn into a monkey.. hehe! The only symptom he has now is a cough and its getting a little better each day.

Caden had karate and boy scouts this week. They are working on their pinewood derby car and plan to work on it some more this weekend. Caden is doing his book report speech at school tomorrow so hes looking forward to being done with that. We are trying to figure out what to put Cole into now that he has decided that karate is too serious for him...

I took Chase to a bounce house today with some friends and he was afraid at first but he was able to climb up the big slide and go down all by himself. Ill post pictures when i download my camera.

Its going to be a nice day tomorrow so we are going to central market for milk and then a park after school.

The Bolt Movie

We had our babysitter Maran come over to take care of Chase so we could take the boys to see Bolt in 3D. It was a great movie and it was really cool to get to see it in 3D on one of the projectors that bryan helped invent years ago.

Cole didnt want to wear the glasses and he kept saying its not 3d...so Caden told him that it would be 3d if you wore the glasses but he wouldnt put them on for more than a minute or two. I dont think he understood what 3d meant but he liked the movie and I think both of them really enjoyed having us all to themselves.

Muddy boys!

The boys went outside to play and next thing we knew...they were knocking on the patio door looking like this!! They decided to paint their faces like witch doctors...(i guess they have seen too much Scooby Doo) They did have a lot of fun though. Im just glad Chase didnt get in on that action.

Park Day

We took the boys over to a park that is nearby our house today after we had finished cleaning up Christmas. Everything is put away and we are so happy to have it done. The boys had a great time on their scooters and Chase had fun playing on the playground.
